CLASS & STUDIO ETIQUETTE
These few reminders should make your yoga practice more enjoyable…
Punctuality: Try to arrive at least ten minutes early for your scheduled class, to get your mat set up, place your belongings in your locker, and settle in. Doors will be locked once class has started. Don’t leave yourself standing out in the cold.
Shoes: Upon entering the studio, please slip off your shoes, honoring our space of practice. Socks may be kept on until practice starts if you prefer.
Hygiene: When you’re really warm, scents are much stronger. Therefore we ask that no perfumes or colognes are to be used. Deodorant is the only exception and is preferred please.
Chewing Gum: Please dispose prior to class
Cell Phones: No cell phones or pagers are allowed in the practice room. Please ensure your ringers are off. Allow this time for you to practice the art of letting go… of your cell phone.
Mealtime: You should try not to eat within two hours before your class. Asanas are better practiced and tolerated on a “not so full” belly.
Savasana: Make every effort to remain for your entire class. This is where the good stuff happens! If you must leave early, notify your teacher ahead of class. Situate yourself near the doors and exit quietly, after a brief personal savasana.
Making Choices: Variety is the spice of life. We offer a variety of teachers and styles to practice with. This can be a very personal thing that may take a while to find the right combination. Make your choices honestly, privately and with integrity. Remember that talking with the teacher is helpful, talking about them is not.
